Classic knit mittens - small, medium and large

Purchase these classic purple mittens and your hands will thank you again and again. Actually, every time you put them on. I mean, you've suffered enough! Remember last winter? Yeah, you don't want to go through that again. Wool is the way to go when you want warmth. Believe me, I know.

You can't go wrong with the classic style of these wool mittens
• Hand knit from a soft winter white wool
• Measure around the hand just above the thumb:
Small-8" Medium-9" Large 10" (20.5, 23, 25.5 cm)
• Warmth while you carry things
• Long wearing and flexible (guaranteed)
• Traditional ribbing around the wrist
• Various adult sizes: small, medium and large
• Side effects include spontaneous humming to self (OK, maybe not)

Since all my items are handmade, you’ll likely see slight variations. I hand knit each mitten with 4 knitting needles — fancy! Also, everybody’s computer monitor is different, so those colors may slightly vary. But, these mittens are a classic, so they'll be great no matter what!

Here’s how processing and shipping works around these parts. We get your fabulous order (you have excellent taste!) and process it within 1-2 business days if the mittens are already made. If I need to whip them up, it could take about 1-2 weeks. Then your warm mittens are shipped off using USPS first class. Once we drop your mittens off at the post office, we bid adieu and put our trust in the USPS to get it to you in the timeframe posted. If you need it in a hurry, shoot me a message before you buy and let’s see if we can make that happen.

Petting often will do the trick. But as for washing, I recommend going the old fashioned route and do it by hand. Don't worry, it's not hard and you'll probably only do it once a year (in spring when the snow is finally a fading memory). I'll send you some directions so you won't be floundering on your own. Oh, and they’re scared of irons! Don’t even mention it around them. Besides, who wants flat mittens??

You have to see all the other awesome mittens in my shop. This way, please:§ion_id=14859668

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a warranty on your products?

Our handknit items are fully warranted, to the original owner, for the practical lifetime of the product. This does not mean your lifetime, although we would love to hear stories about our items being used!

So, what is “normal wear and tear”?
We handknit every product to meet our superior standards, but no matter how carefully you use and care for your product, nothing lasts forever. Items used every day will degrade faster than someone who only wears their product once or twice per year. Eventually every product will begin to show signs of age and wear such as faded fabric or frayed cuffs, and we take this into consideration when assessing your warranty request.

What isn't covered under your warranty?

When you’re busy chasing an adventure, we recognize that accidents can and do happen. Unfortunately, snags, rips or other damage to your product can happen and are not covered under warranty.

Improper care or negligence, such as storing your product while wet or not following the care instructions on the label inside your garment will result in damages that are not covered under warranty. It may well be that your product has simply reached its practical lifetime and it is time to be replaced. We hope you will continue to trust Lambs Ears Knits to make just what you need for your next adventure!

Care instructions

Care for wool items is very easy!

Simply swish the item in a sink with warm water and a squirt of shampoo for suds. Work the item gently to get the soap throughout the item and squeeze the soapy water out. Refil the sink with water that is the SAME temperature as the soap water. Swish and rinse to clear the soap with the same temperature water. Yes...temperature consistency is important when washing wool items. Don't twist, just squeeze.

Now, roll it up in a towel and squeeze, or you can step on it. That works really well to remove a lot of moisture. OR you can put it in the washer on spin cycle for a couple of minutes.

Hang or lay your item on or near a heater register and it should be dry by morning!

Where do you get your yarn from?

I personally like yarn that is sourced in the USA, and I like sourcing from "the little guys". So far, I have been able to do both quite successfully! I currently buy my wool blends and Alpaca for many of my hats from a store in Bethlehem, PA and for my mittens I found an excellent source of Mule Spun wool in Montana and Maine. Yarn purchased at places like this can be more expensive, but I feel the attention to detail, from the animals to the final product, make the cost well worth it.

Will you make my hat or mittens from a different fiber?

After many years of knitting accessories for men and women I have come to have some definite preferences about the yarn I use! I have also come to the realization that what I think is best, may not be what YOU find is best for your needs!

If you find you are allergic to a fiber I use, but you like the style of the hat or mittens, then convo me! I would love to work up something custom that will fit YOU and your needs!
